Staple Pieces

I love mixing up my outfits and adding in pops of color and different textures. I tend to lean toward mostly neutrals, blacks, and whites for my staple pieces that pair with every outfit. Staple pieces are classic items that pull together every outfit and also help save you money since they’re not being traded out for trends.

My first favorite is this camel coat with all black. Obviously you can pair it with white but I love it with blacks since it makes the tan color pop. These shoes are also my absolute favorite. These suede loafer heels are gorgeous and so comfortable. I have had them for years now so I cannot link the exact ones but I will find similar! These jeans are so comfortable. I purchased them on sale at Zara and they fit so well and pair with everything. My turtleneck is a nice thin piece from Madewell and it is a great layering piece. It’s not too heavy but is very flattering.

Most of the outfits I choose have the same build, jeans of some type, a shirt and a cute coat. For the longest time I hated winter time because I felt jackets ruined my outfits, well this year I actually shopped and found jackets I love that go well with everything that will last forever (hopefully). This jacket is so cute and comfortable, it is warm and dresses up any outfit. These jeans are also a favorite of mine. I got them online super cheap from Abercrombie and they fit so well. I have also had these slides for a really long time and love them. They are so chic.

Last but not least, my absolute favorite staple piece is an oversized white button up shirt. I generally like to purchase mens shirts for this because I dont love how women’s clothes have cinched waists and girly accents but now that women’s clothing has come out with the “boyfriend fit” I dont need to stray. I got my white button up from Zara. I believe it was on sale and it is so comfortable and lightweight. The jeans and shoes in this outfit are the same as above. I also love a cropped tank to pair underneath. This one is a ribbed, sweater type crop that I also purchased from Zara. The jewelry I’m wearing is also my favorite and I wear them pretty much everyday.

What is your favorite staple piece? I would love to hear about what makes you feel most beautiful in your outfits!

Saturday Adventure

Hi friends! It is now late afternoon on Monday and my weekend was a mix of adventure and illness. Saturday we went for a fun hike but I weirdly woke up not feeling the best. That didn’t stop me (although maybe it should have lol) we did a fantastic 6 mi hike that brought us close enough to make the mountain look small. It was so beautiful. Sunday however I woke up ill with no energy, which wasn’t the best but I at least had an added day of rest.

If you are a lover of the outdoors and love to hike what is the best hike you’ve been on?

I like to keep my outfits simple while hiking, I don’t usually wear a backpack (I know most do) but I was with two other people who helped carry my things so I didn’t need one lol. I do like a fanny pack type belt to carry the important things like my phone, keys, and ID. (Thinks I dont like to leave in the car). Other than that I stick with a simple tank top and some leggings and usually hiking boots, but this time I wore my hiking sandals since there were multiple river crossings.

*Just a side note about the Lululemon gear, I rarely will spend money on it when it is full price, the quality is worth it, however I personally don’t like to spend that much on active wear. I am a regular at the outlet stores to find little treasures and have come out with multiple items at a fraction of the full priced cost.

What’s your favorite things to bring or wear on a hike?
